My Dunlop D01J's are 165/55/R12. But they are NLA I believe.

Remember, the second number in a tyre size is not the wall height as a measurement, its the height as a percentage of the tyres width.

for example: 145/70 r12: tyre wall is 70% of 145 = 101.5mm
165/60 r12: tyre wall is 60% of 165 = 99mm
175/50 r13: 50% of 175 = 87.5mm

So there you have it, three different tyre sizes, all within 2mm diameter of each other.
:D

yokohama's 12" semi slicks (A048R) are 55 series profile (165/55R12).

Why do you want lower profile? just for looks or are you trying to reduce the rolling diameter?
If its for looks 13" tyres have a lower profile. Maybe worth considering changing to 13" wheels if you like the look.
