Maybe ARE at Brendale?

They are specialist custom radiator and inter cooler guys, but might be useful.

it's funny my car was getting hot on the highway close to over heating..

aircon is not gassed up at the moment so not using it..

i decided to take it out the way from the grill to test if it was blocking air flow & the temp is not moving above halfway now!!! funny that..

it's a stupid design & blocks airflow.

i want to move it under the back of my car but the current one i have is a bit to thick & wont fit under the travalar unless i cut a square out of the rear subframe edging to slip it up there.

if it was a sedan it would fit no worries but the van has a big spare wheel hump underneath.

not sure if that would affect the strength etc.

i need something thinner like the later model aircon set ups or custom.

Stop pissfarting around with custom setups right there. :lol:
Go either the late setup or ditch it. A condenser under the back of the car sounds like a pain in the ass to assemble, service, get airflow too as well as be exposed to damage.

You may as well get a big one out of another car and install it like an intercooler on top of the engine with a scoop or outside the car under the bonnet!

haha i reckon it would work.. i mean they move the rads under the car up the back seems to cool the cars :)

I can't see it working at all.
The system wouldn't work very efficiently under there either, I mean the long run next to the exhaust might warm the gas up again!

good point but the engine bay is hot as well.

if you have the small late model alloy condensor you want to get rid of let me know..

otherwise i might have to buy a whole kit & i don't want to really.

$400 or $500 for a whole kit it a lot cheaper and easier than a custom setup.
Anything custom is a gold mine these days.

Adrad can do them, but you cannot deal direct. You can go through one of their authorised distributors, like Natrad.

The last injected Japanese Minis with air con have the condenser bolted to the drivers side inner guard in basically the same position as the radiator on the passeneger's side. You could replicate that approach.

If your existing condenser won't fit in that position I'd be hitting the wreckers. The condenser from a small daihatsu, suzuki or similar should work.

This is what I was thinking of doing, mounting the condenser to the drivers side inner guard and replicate a whole in the guard for a electric fan sucking the air away from the condenser like late jap spec rover radiators do. Not much else is competing for space, or airflow once the hole and fan are there . And it's a lot better than mounting the condenser anywhere else in the car.

it is the best spot indeed, i was trying not to cut the car for the moment i have pissed it off.

will think if i want to cut into the guard or not. :)

That's the only thing I have against the late Rover setups. It would be pretty hard to replace the cutout section if you ever wanted to restore the car to original.

I'd love a Traveller with late Rover SPi and Air Con. But I can't bring myself to cut and drill the Traveller that much. :(

yes Bincho im in the same boat.

it's out for the moment it's just those sliding windows really keep that heat in.
