Hetty lives, reborn with her 40" over 1098 engine. No smoke and she runs really smooth..

Unfortunatley the slave cylinder crap itself........ Oh well. I can't have everything. Where would I put it? :)

Now I can rest my wrist and have a nice cold beer or 6.
Much thanks go to my cousin for helping do the tricky stuff that I wasn't capable of doing. I have a Pulsar Dizzy to go in but after removing the cap and screaming like a little girl when I saw all the built up crap on the contacts I have decided not to use it for the time being.....

I is well stoked.

Hey MiniKit, that's really awesome mate. Glad you've had it running. That's a pretty serious overbore since the blocks aren't even 40" long

Just take the you know what!! We all know you meant 40 thou.....

Reconditioned engine? New Rings etc? Be sure to load it up some and run it in. Don't let it idle in your shed.

Bit of bad luck with the slave cylinder, but if that's all.....

Congrats mate :)

Great feeling isn't it, I'm about to finish another one in the next couple of weeks and I'm bouncing off the walls.

Fixing your slave won't take long (or replacing if need be).

But err...... in the mean time....... SHOW US THE PICTURES :D

Yeah don't know what I was thinking 40". Might have been thinking about something else like my TV.... I'd blame the pain killing drugs I'm taking except I haven't had any today. Had some yesterday and then promptly forgot to put in the push rods. :)

So glad I checked everything four times though.. Engine came out of the van I bought. New pistons, rings, bearings but that's about it. The previous owner had run it in for about a 1000km. I pulled it all apart since it had been sitting for a while and I changed all the gaskets, seals, put my reconditioned head on and the Triger timing belt kit. Still had the hone marks in the bores.

I'll go buy a new slave cylinder tomorrow and it should be good to go.
