Hi All,

ive come across 2 2inch SU (well thats what my calipars tell me!) that and they were off a Jag. what my question is, ive only got a 998, so 2 big for mine, in the future if i upsize my engine, how well would they work?

The idea HP range for a single 2" SU is from 65 through to 115 HP. For twin 2" it would be 125 to 215 HP.

The short of it is, if fiited to a 998, it would be over-carburated. You would loose a lot of low rev torque.

For a 998, you're best with a 1.5" or two 1.25"

A 1.75 would probably run well with a worked 998, but they're generally better for the bigger engines. I think a 2" would probably be a little too big for even a stock 1275 - they normally run with a 1.75.

yeah i got a 1 1/2 that im keeping on my 998, but if i were to up size, the 2inch could work! thanks

I'd say use it on an over sized/worked 1275.
Then I think you should ask is a single 2" SU better than twin 1" SU's (assuming they are on perfect manifolds).

Um.. it just doesn't work this way. putting 2 carbs onto a 5 port head, only 1 carb breathes at a time. So a single 1.5 can flow better than say twin 1.25s (assuming it's on a decent manifold, non-MOWOG)...

No offence intended here but--> anyone writing a book about minis 30 years ago may not have experienced such worn or stuffed-with components as we are finding these days.

You should put your heart & soul into everything you do.

You will get better results with a good inlet manifold and extractors and keeping your HS4.
