Here's some photo's and dyno sheets from a 1275(1360) motor I had running on the dyno today. The setup was a Link Automotive (Hanz) from melbourne. Maximum boost of 7lbs was at 6500revs. Maximum power was at 6000revs and running 6.5lbs of boost.
It was a pretty red motor too.

Oh lovely!

Would love to see a simular engine with a poor mans supercharger (SC12).

Nice flat torque curve...
OK I'll bite- how long will the crank last with no harmonic balancer on it??

Hi Poeee
These blowers don't make much more than this the bmw mini blowers make a lot more.
Hi Kev
you tell me
Hi Super Mini
They possibly could but the blower will run out of puff.

torque curve 100 to 106 8) and you would set the Rev Limiter to 6,300.
Thats Great

I saw 6 to 9 lb of boost from 4000 to 6000 rpm in mine - and will again when I get my cam back (right GR?)

Why does it start at 4000rpm and not 0?

Normal street driving you normally drive between 2000-5000 revs (even thats given it some) dont you? Thats what i do. :?

Hi Bubbacluby
If you have a look below the yellow in the white you will see 3500 rpm 97 ftlb and 64 hp it would not take full load below that but it would still take part throttle from right down low

Is this because of the cam spec?

Hey GR mind if I ask a few questions?:

    1. What static compression ratio is the engine running?
    2. What boost does it get just off idle? If it is maxing out at that power it probably gets good boost at 1500 rom where an M45 or SC12 may struggle.
    3. Was that a new kit, ie are they still available? I ask because they use the older generation Sprintex charger which I didn't think were still made now that Sprintex has their new version out. The new series doesn't contain a model smaller than the S5-150 at 590cc per rev.
    4. The dyno sheet says the cam is a RE13T. Is that what you'd recommend for a 1275 SC motor with a bit less boost?
    5. Do you know what pistons it's running or have a recommendation for an SC 1275?

I am at the buying parts stage of a similar engine and my aim is to have that or a bit less power but good torque all the way through the rev range, so a lazy streeter. Mine will be 1100s block with one of those 7-port heads. I don't know about the charger yet with the Sprintex ones being $2050!!

Thanks,

Mark.
