what would be the best way to tap this into the fuse box on a car? http://dicksmith.com.au/product/P1679/lighter-panel-socket what gauge wire, what fuse etc... |

I'm about to fit one in into my wifes mini which I have already purchased... It has a 1 meter length of wire so its a matter of cutting off the end and finding the - earth and hard wire it it in to the fuse box. This is for her GPS...mine will be done the same. |

Personally, I would run a length of cable to the battery connection on the starter solenoid and put an inline fuse on it. Something around 2.5mm2 for the cable and a 10 amp fuse... Make sure you have a good 'earth' connection to wire the -ve up to and you're all sorted. |

Personally i just spliced the wires running to my AM Radio, and used that +ve and earth. Since the radio never gets used, a lack of current wouldnt be an issue. |
