Post subject:  Advice on Spray Painting gear

I am wanting to do some spray painting, subframes and stuff like that.

I have a compressor 12cfpm and are wanting to ensure i don't get any contamination in the stuff i paint.

I was going to buy a new hose and filter and have access to a HVLP quality spray guns

What sort of filer do i need. There is one on my compressor but I want to run a second one

Any spray painters on line

what sort of filter do you mean??
like a moisture filter/dryer?
You can get little ones of those from most places.
The biggest thing you need to consider is the environment you are spraying in. If there is contamination around the area you are working in, you will still get stuff in your paint jobs. so have a nice clean area to paint in, and make sure you compressor is sucking in nice clean air. Remember to give your compressor a rest too, if its only a little one, they start to get a bit hot and start to accumulate a bit of water in them if they run constantly for a while.
In my experience anyway. :D

Hi Bernard,

Total Bodyshop sell disposable air filters (screw on under your gun) which sound like a good idea, plus all the other bits & bobs plus a MOWOG discount :)

Just don't believe them when they assure you you only need two litres to paint a Mini (at least not the way I do it...)
