The newest Shannons ad is based on a Black Cooper S and the owners obvious love for it. It looks like a nice car.

I think they have owned them for a while now.

It is a good ad, but rather ironic that the owners say 'it's like the Italian Job every time we drive in it'. So is this insurance company almost encouraging driving like a hoon and it's OK? Hey, it's my present insurer too :D

As long as they're not advertising cars, they can show cars doing anything they want! I remember a Toyota Avalon ad (an ad for the most boring car on the market at the time) being pulled because it was visible that Dad had pulled the handbrake slightly before coming to a complete stop at the grandparents' house (the back end kicked slightly on the grass), while an Iced Coffee brand was allowed to show a V8 Commodore Ute flying along backwards at high speed and people jumping off it with impunity... Thank you so very much for your attempts at destroying all semblance of fun, Mr Scruby... Mr Harold Scruby is a Director of and the face of the Pedestrian Council of Australia. He is the person who complains about anything pro-car in the media in any way shape or form.

And my recent claim (rear ended, new boot lid, etc) through Shannons was handled by a bloke working out of a Suncorp office. Not locally, he was in Brisbane, but when I called his (supposedly) direct line, I was greeted with 'Welcome to Suncorp'. Not unhappy with that...

actually there not called LSV they are called lumley special vehicles (i got in trouble for calling them that). Last night at our Moke club meeting we had a guy come from lumley special vehicles come and talk about whats what and yes they did sound very good but couldnt beat our prices with shannons. They also wont insure the 18-25 category unless your a member of a car club and own a "special" car. They also dont have full race insurance like shannons offer, i.e. your car is fully covered while racing. So unless they offer me a good deal for me when im on P-plates and in my mini im staying with shannons

Each to his own.....insurance is different for each case, and so it does pay to shop around - every year if possible.

But in my case - LSV (if it's on their stationary, it's good enough for me) is the best and could be for people in similar circumstances to mine.

So far very happy - hope I never have to claim!

Interestingly, they will have a rep talking at the next mini club meeting on Friday night.
