Post subject:  Rover brake master / booster in a Moke
So I'm having a go at putting a Rover brake master / booster setup in the Moke.

Three issues I have found so far.

1 - The leg that sits back and mounts to the firewall that also has the return spring was too long. Solution - I lopped the back off, and am using the return springs (which are much better anyways) that were on the stock Moke pedal box (the Rover one didn't have any springs on the pedals at all). Will weld a mount back on to it at the right spot to brace it on the firewall.

2 - There is little to no clearance where the mechanism that pushes up to the master cylinder frame inside the cabin where the pedal box mounts up and under. Pic will explain more. Now this pic is with it fully returned, but still not sure if it will be fine because of problem 3.

3 - I'll have to make clearance on the firewall for the pushrod to return completely.

I don't know if anyone else has even bothered to chuck one of these setups in a Moke, but if you have, can I please have some advice before I start hacking in to the body?!

i have seen it done

I'll have to make clearance on the firewall for the pushrod to return completely.

you need to bash the fire wall out a bit with a hammer but it fits mate.

ill check a old thread i read over once & it was on ausmini.

I had another think, and maybe I can clear some room by simply moving the fork on the master cylinder rod...

To do it all properly, the firewall would need a drop out in it, the same size as the dip in the firewall of a roundy where the bonnet hinge goes.

There's other ways around it but can be a little trickier to set up, one would be a spacer between the engine steady plate and the booster frame to lift it up say, 1/4 inch (as it goes up the clearance on the moving bits to firewall increases).
