Post subject:  Rotisserie clearance for Mini.
Greetings All.
I see SupaCheap are selling engines stands @ $90 odd each. Was thinking of two for a Rotisserie. Will look at on way home tonite.
Q: If I run the pipe through the Speedo / rear shelf holes, what floor (shed) to pipe height would I need to rotate cleanly?

I'm guessing that it would be at least 2ft because its 4 ft wide. (This is just the body.)
Anyone actually done this lately?

I did draw it up once on CAD. To be able to spin the body through a full 360, the centres need to be something around 3 1/2 feet (1050 mm) from ground level, pretty high. Most who use them set them up so they only tilt a little and doesn't end up at rediculous heights, unless you make that part adjustable.

I bet others have them cheaper still, I paid $55 a while back.

Supercheap just ain't so cheap any more.. :evil: shop around.

This is (was) mine. Can't tell you how long the legs are because Josh has it. :twisted: From Memory maybe 1000 mm high?It has to be more than 1/2 the width as when it turns the distance from the centre to the corners is more (does that make sense?)

I got a pair of cheap folding engine stands from Aldi a couple of months back, the way they are designed it will be easy to make them taller and they will still be able to be converted back to use as engine stands.

Try Aldi..... They recently had them for $40. Thery weren't a big seller so there may be some still left in the shops...

I just went down to SuperCheap and their too low, and pretty crappy loooking. The link above looks better and cheaper, but the freights a killer to Adelaide and I think heghts still a problem. We don't have ALDI yet.

I'm now thinking more towards welding up my own after looking at SuperCheaps.

Hope to start the wifes 997 on the weekend! (LOL)

What you need is an old trampoline frame. Mine cost
$20 at the recycling yard. Its a bit light duty but does the job.
