just wondering what the timing should be set to on my mini?
does it make a difference if a have a different cam?

i have timed mini's at 6* adv but on the other hand have timed mini's at 23* adv. all depends on eng mods and cam....cam is good.

the egine specs is
1100cc (+40thou rebore)
camtech 631 cam
extractor
sports exhaust
1 1/2 su

it ran really smothlty until the dizzy got turned around abit, (opps)
whats the standered timing ment to be? il start at that and see how i go

I would probebly start at around 8* adv....But the cam you mentioned may work or respond a little better around 12*adv

I've got a Camtech 631 in a 1098 with BIG valved head, LCB, blah blah... it runs good at 10* BTDC static timing.

A lot will depend on what weights and advance plate are in the dizzy though (or what dizzy...!). I'd set it at 10*, try it out, then advance a few degrees more. If it pings put it back... :P
Max advance it gets to when thrashed is more important than the static setting. :wink:
