Hi Guys, I`ve just put my timing cover back on and also my crankshaft pulley bolt. According to the gregories manual the bolt needs to be torqued to 70 lbs ft, I think it is. How do you stop the crankshaft from turning as you tighten the bolt ?? Jethro |

Jethro I have a piece of fly wheel ring gear cut to size to fit in the starter motor hole, drilled with a bolt through the side. put this in so the ring gear teeth mesh, so the fly wheel turns, the bolt hits the casing, no more turny turny.. ![]() |

Just sit an old main bearing shell in the ring gear, in the starter hole. It won't slip. Otherwise, get your sexy (or not) assistant to hold a BF screwdriver in the ring gear... firmly. ![]() |
