Post subject:  mysterious ride height change ?

today i parked my mini ont he side of the road while i was at a friends place for 4-5 hours, it was slightly on an angle (towards the gutter) as the road curves like most roads, and when i got in a drove off all the LHS of the car was sagging, keep in mind my front cones have been replaced within 2-3 weeks ago,

the only thing i can think would cause this is the the hi-lo's dropping down, but why now ? and why all on the same side.. ?

any idea people ?

Check the hi-lo poles aren't bent?

Also, the donuts if they're new might have collapsed already, wouldn't be the first time.

donuts were sports/race ones and were new on both front wheels,

and the rears wernt touched and are sagged,

but both front and rear LHS ride height has dropped while it was parked for 4 hours..

New cones will settle... You'd think it would be even though.

i didnt touch the rears at all, they still have the cones that were in there when i bought the car,

it sunk on the LHS which was the side the road was leaning too...

It all sounds a bit sus to me. Has something let go on that side that is unrelated to the suspension eg body wise.

I cant think of a logical explanation based on your info.

Did you replace the knuckle joints when you did the HiLos?

hi-lo's were on there when i got the vehicle, but ive had all 4 knuckle joints replaced fronts were done about 2-3 weeks ago, rears were done about 4 months ago..

i jacked up the car and nothing looks out of place.. so i wound up the rears and seems to be alright atm.. but ill keep an eye on it

The only thing I can athink of is that the knuckles weren't seated properly on that side and both dropped in at the same time but I think it unlikely. Measure the hi lo adjustment on each side to compare if they are different..

That's what I was thinking too. There are a few getting about at the moment that have over-sized and / or tapered shanks and so don't go in and seat properly.
