Must have been from Saturday night when you all shot through and left me in the club on my own.

Sad news about the motor, at least you made it home and got to do some laps of Wakefield as well.

On my way home from Goulburn I came to the conclusion my Speedo and Tacho must be out. :?
70MPH was a bit less than 4000RPM and I was keeping up with the traffic.
At 5000RPM the speedo is showing 90MPH. But it does go well at 5000RPM.

That was the biggest drive I have done in my car and I was so pleased with it. Steering needs a bit of tweaking but the motor just didn't miss a beat.

Got it to 160kmh :D

I sat on 100 -105 and was overtaken by several Cooper S's. Had to wait until I saw an 850 in the distance until I could claim to having overtaken anybody!

No tacho so I will have to work out how many revs that is in the Deluxe (3.76 diff?)

According to GearCalc 100kph should be 4113rpm and 110kph should be 4524rpm. (assuming 165/70-10 tyres) So somewhere around that!

Going down to WP I came up on another red `Matic with Canberra plates, it was doing about 90kmh up a hill and the driver was `whipping it' out the window. These things were not great on hills...
So, I just rounded him up in 4th gear and accelerated up the hill. :P

Classic 'Matic V Was-a-Matic shootout.

Would have loved to see that

Air Con on and cruise control set at 121km/h (allowing for known speedo error).

Oh, the Moke bouncing around on the trailer. :)

Bad luck with the motor carter. Hope it all works out OK for you.

Been on the road since Monday morning, still not home  Stuck in Townsville, got here today, roads closed north & south of Cardwell. Might open tomorrow, otherwise Saturday. Was talking to a truckie at the truckstop at Cluden (where there are many trucks), he's been there since Tuesday  Bugger that.

Otherwise, no drama, pretty easy run. Was a great event and great to catch up with and meet many ausminier's.
