Came across these on Auto Trader in the UK, 57, 180 & 32 miles for these 3! Hope they've been taken care of with hoses and corrosion and all that. Not sure what stocks and shares would have done in that time but a mini in the 90s was about 6-8k new and now they're charging 2-3 times that. Not a bad return for a car at all!

The reason they're so expensive is that the ones that were driven on the road all need new sills, guards and floors. The rustproofing on the later minis was appalling. A good investment perhaps (although that assumes someone will stump up the asking price), but not great cars.

I think the price is to cheap if this was an investment. The risk attached to this investment was so large the return is to low.

Ask yourself what car you would buy new today on the expectation it'll double it's price in 15 years. Then tell yourself you have to buy a car and you need the doubled money in 15 years. Most people are to conservative and nervous to make this call. the chance of it happening are so low you could do better with shares (risk/return)

I can't believe how much they crammed under the bonnet. Looks a mess when I compare it to the 1970 basic that I have.

A Bugatti Veyron or Rolls Royce Phantom, considering the limited prodution run. Although not really feasible for 99.9% of us.
