Hi

I am thinking of changing my car from 8.4 to 7.5 discs so that i can run 10 inch wheels again.

Question is can i reuse any of the old components or do i need to buy a complete 7.5 disc kit to fit to the car.

If i buy a complete kit i think there are two different types of callipers available . Are the cheaper reproduction callipers any good? Has any body had any problems with them or are the dearer callipers better.

All replies appreciated and thanks in advance

The parts that you need to change are;-

Disc,
Drive Flange (don't forget the 4 per side countersunk screws),
Caliper & pads

Hub, wheel bearings (Timkins  ), CV, CV Nut & Washer are the same.

The 'Aftermarket' Calipers that Mini Spares UK have (make?) are no worries. Not sure if there are any other versions available.

You might want to think about the need for a booster. Some guys here run without them on 7.5" Discs, but I definitely prefer to have one.

Hi GT

Thanks for the reply.

I have had a closer look on minispares website and found that they do a kit for this conversion.

It is the cheapest way to buy it and it is the way i will go.

In regards to the callipers they list their own minispares brand and also genuine AP brand at considerably higher price.

Will probably use MS brand if you havent had any problems with them.

Already running a booster so will be staying on.

Thanks again
