Went to repco today and Spoke to a guy at the counter that's into minis. Mentioned to me that repcos 20-50 oil 6lt for 23$ is produced by penrite.

Everyone has there own preference but i found this pretty interesting.

Now that you mention it, I did notice that on the bottle of diesel oil I picked up for the Hilux.. didn't put 2+2 together obviously

I don't think my 'lux has ever leaked oil, but it certainly uses a bit now. But at ~615,000km, you'd expect it to.

I dont think REPCO would get that involved any more. I'm sure it's just one of Penrites standard blends rebranded.

Thanks for the warning. :D

I have mentioned it before but I will repeat it here, I used Penrite HPR 30 in my car for about 8 years. During that time it used to get a lot of mayo in the rocker cover in winter (I do mostly short trips) and it always leaked a little oil from the bottom of the clutch housing.
After I switched to KMX the mayo is gone and the oil leak has stopped.
This is a 45 year old motor that is nearly worn out.

didnt have any issues using penrite or kmx.

though i never go 8 years without changing it.

i dont think $20 for 6L is particularly good.

i can usually get brand name stuff on special for less, i have a stockpile in my shed of mobil, castrol, valvoline.

20 for 6lt of "no name" probs not the best. Lol if I could pick up 6lt of castrol 20-50 for $20 I'd b stoked.
