Hi all,

I've made a few attempts from time to time at tracking the past history of my car and managed to go back through 3 previous owners to the early 90's but the trail has gone cold just as it get's interesting.

Apparently a deaf and dumb panel beater by the name of John Carmody drove the car across from WA to SA in the late 80's or early nineties. He then stripped the car and began to restore it, but sold it unfinished to the next owner who is as far back as I can get.

For some reason the trip across the Nullabor was the subject of a newspaper article but that's about all I know and I haven't been able to find the article.

I've tried all the J Carmodys in the SA Phone book with no luck.

Perhaps some SA or WA members knew the car or may know other previous owners.

It's a long shot but I figured it was worth a try.

The car is a 1968 Cooper S, Spec. Burgundy with White roof.

If anyone wants any further details let me know.

Cheers
