Guys just looking for what would be the best setup for slidey, as i have what would appear to be a standard setup in slidey, and currently am experiencing slipping and clutch flare under hard acceleration/gear change (3rd to 4th).........

I don't really have any idea what would be suitable, so i guess i'm asking for a guide on what to buy, where to buy it and prices of what i need.......

Steve

You want a stock S Borg & Beck Blue dot diaphragm and clutch plate. 8)

I agree it should not slip with a stock S blue dot diaphragm, but the orange dot (rally) one is not much dearer if you need to buy one.
It's important to check that the diaphragm spring is flat when clutch is all assembled. Often this is not the case, due to wear, or flywheel and backplate face machining.
Mine was out by nearly 1mm, Boostedminis was way worse until he fixed it.
Bolt it all together, with the straps, and then look under the side of the diaphragm spring cover with a torch.

I think this is the one I have - I didn't talk colours, but Karcraft sold it to me as "extra heavy duty". Just be careful as although my slippage problem has well and truly gone, it has brought on it's own set of problems - I have so far had a broken clutch arm and a collapsed thrust bearing (I think, well hope that's all it is - time will tell when I pull it all apart :? )

The couple of times I have had it working properly since I changed the pressure plate It was beautiful to drive - just have to iron out the bugs. Story of my cars life!!!! :o

Since I set up the diaphragm flat this time, my clutch pedal effort with the orange plate is LESS than it was with the blue S plate.
So, it is important. A heavy pedal can mean clutch height is not properly set up...

As you may well know, my knowlede in these areas is quite limited :?

That's why I took the whole clutch assembly to Graham Russell to work out the heights etc so I'd have to assume that it's done right.

Like I say, I'm really hoping my troubles are only a collapsed thrust bearing or something simple like that, but I have bad bad feelings it's something worse. I won't have a chance to even make a start on it until tomorrow night (Sunday).

Make sure all the experts are online Sunday night to answer my emergency questions!!!
Even better, who feels like ripping an engine out with me - c'mon - this is fun isn't it??? :D  :?

Karcraft's prices-
Cooper S Borg & Beck clutch kit- includes pressure plate diaphragm- clutch plate-release bearing $107.40 total.
All you need unless it's a real bigass motor..

Orange (rally) plate Borg & Beck diaphragm $105.96
Borg & Beck clutch plate $50.35
Release bearing (UK made) $23.77

You can get competition clutch plates, but they are overkill on the street, IMO.
AP Racing plate $174.79
Ceramettalic race plate $468.87
