So i had to remove drive shafts from an engine the other day in order to transfer the engine into another subframe etc. Any who, i did the dirty thing and took the main pot boot off to slip them off (not the best decision i later learned)

Regardless, thats where i am now, the pots are missing their inner bits, and one of the boots is shite and getting replaced.

Is it a simple case of checking inner cages for all of their balls, packing with grease, sliding them back over pot, and doin up the zip tie thing?

As long as the joint is not badly worn... Pretty much, yes.

Not sure how much of them you have lost but at least in regards to the factory ones, there are two 'sizes' of inner bits and they don't inter-change, so keep all the left bits left & the right bits right......
