Hey all, When I hit a bump in my van my 13's scrub in the back at the lip of the rear arch. I would rise it up but I really like the look of it low. I could go to 10X6 but I like the look of my matte black supertrax. I have just gone out and cranked up the stiffness on my spax adjustable shocks and will see what that does. Might need a kidney belt and a back operation in a few weeks. Am i being stupid and going the form over function route? I would really like it lower to tell you the truth Low mini's look awesome. Maybe some matte black 10X6 Mamba's are the real answer. Not really a question just thoughts. If you have pics of lowered mini's maybe chuck them up...

Wait until you hit the bump on the road and smash the gearbox casing. Lowered minis are for race tracks - you need the suspension movement for things to work properly Mike

I would suggest that the shocks wont help, the rear can be tubbed, but that would mean messing up your stunning black paint! Pictures! This did NOT work at all - didnt last long

I lowered mine once... ...tried to let a bit out of the hydro and valve stuck open. Fully sic

well mine isn't crazy low. I have about 3 cm's clearance from the top of the rubber to the arch. Mike I hear you about the gearbox. I am thinking about a sump guard anyway so maybe that is a good idea I class these as low, drivable but low. These are all from another thread about jdm looking mini's. I like that thread and the distinctive look of some japanese minis. This van is beautiful. Not to low but hot!

Fully sic Yep fully sick bro I have to chuckle as I can imaging you quickly trying to work out how to stop the stinky glycol from coming out only to watch it sink all the way down to the bump stops Does look good though!

Raise it a bit. Not only get a better ride, but they actually handle better (when the suspension can move)

An old black and white pic of my 997 Cooper from back in the 60's I had that lowered and never really had any major dramas. Drove it like that for 4 or 5 years then traded it on a new Cooper S.

Yep, ...thats exactly how it happened. Me making pathetic attempts to stop the fluid and pleading "no no NO" while watching the car slowly grown and creak it's way right down to the bump stops. Don't worry it didn't stay that way. Drove it carefully to the mechanic (which you can do according to the handbook) and got it pumped back up and adjusted to correct height.

Might need a kidney belt and a back operation in a few weeks. problem with stiffening the dampers is that the wheel arches on the back of a van are EXTREMELY weak where they join onto the payload floor. You making the dampers stiff puts all of the bump load on the arches, where it's meant to be on the rubber cones. The rubber cones are the shock absorbers, the dampers are only there to stop the car bouncing do a little test, stand in the back of the van, leaning out while holding onto the roof rail. Now bounce up and down and watch the wheel arches flex my old van was cracked around the wheel arches on both sides

I'd like to question. When Putting 13's on your meant to cut the front guards to suit which I'm thinking this is the same for the rear. If you have chopped the rear Guards did you take enough off
