hi, i appear to have 2 engine breather's on my 1275. One is going from the rocker cover to the air filter and one is going from the flywheel housing to the carby body. Are they both neccessary? Or can i block one or both off? Here's my engine bay Ryan ![]() |

Haven't seen a block like that before: let me guess: South african? I'd leave both breathers there. |

It is sucking air from the filter, into a restrictor in the rocker cover, then through the crankcase and up the flywheel housing breather into the carb. This is a pretty normal setup for this PCV system. |

Interesting question. I too am gettting a new rocker cover without a breather pipe hole. My current breather isnt piped back into the carby, it just has a filter on the end. Will this new rocker cover with only a breather oil cap be fine? |

& if you notice the (common) problem of the water outlet at the back of the cyl head is feeding "HOT" water to the bottom tank of the rad where it will just be drawn back into the engine without being cooled i`d fix that first |

The block seems the same as a Marina (spin-on filter). Some Marina commercial vehicle blocks had extra ribbing and were thought to be stronger. Anyone heard of that? Al |

![]() Method I use is a cut-down lower hose on the top - then you run the hose the end of the block to it - hot water where it's supposed to be, at the top of the rad. Dunno what Matty would do, though ;P cheers Jacob |
