To be honest I've always had another car or assembled hinges to work with, so haven't had to guess, maybe one or some of these pics will help?

So the panel beaters are gradually making progress on my '64 Van restoration and we are now at the stage where they are keen to test fit the rear barn doors and set the gaps around them. Looking at the rear hinges it appears they have letters (eg "G" or "H" or "K") stamped into the castings and I was wondering if there is a system to this similar to the numbering on the front door hinges (ie on the front doors I know that Upper Right is UR or 1 + 2). Any van afficionados out there know how it all works or is it just a case of trial and error? Thanks in advance! |
