Yesterday, we delivered a '69 hydrolastic rolling shell to Kamloops, B.C. and...laid eyes on our first A Series race engine build using the new "5 bearing" crank. (a second crank is to be used for another build on Vancouver Island).

Loaded in the rain for the 350 km. trip to Kamloops.

I have friends on Vancouver Island and have seen pics of the second crank you mention, and other engine goodies :D Interesting cam belt drive kit that uses a tensioner.

Interesting isn't it that the A Series, designed in an earlier geological epoch, receives continual intelligent design improvements. Vintage racers using an assortment of bits that never made it into production but represent a progression of thinking, testing etc.

Working on rebuilding the MGB front suspension I was reminded that the type was designed by Issigonis and Daniels in 1938 for Morris...73 years ago. Still very good for what it is....the rear well more cart like.
