hello.

recently i have been thinking of selling my morris850 project. though i have no idea what it would be worth.

here is a run down of what it is.

1963 morris 850 in orignal paint, slate grey, the body would have to be the best i have ever come across. no rust, all factory panels. extremely good.

original engine and gearbox, full matching numbers. original interior, perfect hood lining ect.

i have been storing this car over the last 7 years. in this time i have spent countless hours collecting only genuine bmc old stock parts to finish this restoration to the highest standard possible.

i have many parts that would impossible to find in genuine bmc packaging such as washer jets, the correct green tubing to plumb them, washer bottle, horn push, battery tie down strap, nos screws, fittings, seals and gaskets, i correct nos speedo, speedo binnacle. trims, the list goes on and on. i even have a genuine nos passport to service booklet and owners manual. as i said, everything is acounted for and in the best condition you will find.

i have stripped the car down completely into all its parts and it has been very carefull boxed up in a custom wooden crate. the shell has been bolted to a steel frame and stored up high on pallet racking for the last 7 years. i have reciepts for almost every part. i even have enough interior fabric in the correct parttern and colour to complete the car.

any thoughts as to what would be a good price? thanks

Hey, this is the classic question... and the dumb answer is what the market will pay.

You have 2 problems
1: It's an 850
2: It's in Pieces

To drive it's not going to impress like a worked mini (factory or otherwise).
The people looking to pay the big dollars are looking for complete registered and running (and still want some performance).

It all comes down to time, time selling each piece or building and selling as a going concern.

-My 850 original is about to get a major refit with go-fast parts and I'm keeping the removed components to allow change back (that'll probably never happen).

My guess $3500 for your parts.
(if everything you said applied and it was a Cooper S then $15-20K complete)(sux doesn't it)
