Im about to do some rust repair around my door; lower part of the skin, under the hinges and on the hinge A-Panel.
Ill be taking the door off for repairs and priming, however being a metallic paint, Id rather paint the door on the car. This will however mean that the area under the hinges will just be primer tho. Is there any issue with this or should i rethink my strategy. Im hoping it will just be touching up and not a full respray of the area.

Paint the areas under the hinges before you assemble the doors onto the body.
Simple.

yea what they said, plus ...... don't have the hinge gasket on when you have it reasembled for paint, even space the hinge out a bit with some washers so there is not as much of a hard edge around the hinge when you paint it.
