Hi All,

So I've decided to fit a roll cage to my mini (decided a long time ago I didn't want rear seats).

I have plans of racing it in the future so I'm interested in getting a CAMS approved roll-cage. I have absolutely no idea who may sell these, how to ensure they are legit etc. etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :)

The whole certification process is a bit of a pain and they keep changing the regulations. My advice is that you need to get the car logbooked and the cage certified as soon as you put it in, even if you won't race for some time. This way, when they change the rules as they always do, you won't have to change the cage.

Talk to Lindsay Siebler or the guys at Link to see where the best place in Melbourne is. In fact talk to any of the local racers, Mini or otherwise.

Otherwise, Bond Rollbars do kits, but you still need someone to weld it for you if you can't do it your self.

Check the CAMS website for the rules (Schedule J from memory, but don't quote me on it). They should also have a list of Melbourne suppliers. Be aware that they are the paying advertisers and not necessarily everyone who is capable.

cheers
michael
