Hey guys, I've lost my interior light, horn and washer pump. So I'm guessing they are all on the same circuit? I checked the two fuses under the bonet and both are fine. Played with the connections and no joy. Where to from here? Cheers, "Electrically challenged" |

Try cleaning the connections on the fuse box. Look at the fuse with the purple wires. Take the fuses out and give the surface of the fuse holder a scrape and try it again. Where the wires go onto the fusebox wiggle the connections and see if that makes a difference. After 40 or so years there is a build up of oxide on the surfaces that needs to be cleaned to make the connection again. Also try swapping the fuses over, sometimes they look good but can be broken inside the ends from vibration. |

Do you have a multimeter or a test light (or at a pinch a light globe?) |

Could also be the 'fast on' connectors to the fuse box. The Interior Light and Horn are on the same fuse, the washers are (normally) on the other. |

i had the same thing happen recently, its the flasher unit for your indicators. replace it, only like ten bux and all will come back to normal. Do your indicators work. or do they stay on, or not come on at all, can you hear the flasher unit tick. also check all the bulbs in the circuit, indicators, brake lights etc. |

Hi Drexxle, all my running lights are good, headlights, indicators etc.. its the other circuit. I think it’s the suspect "fuse box" (for want of a better word) that i bought recently... Might change it and see what happens.. But thanks for the ideas... Cheers 'n beers, Ian |

your horn should legally be on your live circuit so you can use when the ignition is turned off. |

You should get yourself a multimeter, it makes life a lot easier, and they're dirt cheap with great models being available from Jaycar. It makes me angry I had to pay $110 20 years ago for a Fluke with 50 percent of the features... This one costs 27 dollars and will see you shuffle off this mortal coil. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... orm=KEYWOR Anyway, could you check the supply wire from your fuse box to the starter solenoid. It's brown and supplies 12 volts from the battery to the fuse. Your indicator should be on the other fuse, it is supplied from the keyswitch in the cabin, so indicators will only work when the key is switched to start or accessories. The keyswitch in turn is also supplied from the solenoid by another brown wire if you have an alternator charged car. This solenoid brown wire pair for the ignition switch and one of the fuses may be the common link in your problem as they both come from the same place. I have no idea how original your wiring is to the factory diagram, there's some crazy things going on out there with mini wiring looms, but it might be worth a shot pending proper testing with a multimeter. |
