I was unsure of this... so I thought that I might ask here.

One of the connectors on the original horn in my car is broken. To get the car registered I swapped that horn over with the one from my other mini.

Now... are original Australia made horns easy to come by? or is it worth salvaging the original horn?

Once again I think that there is a debate in here about originality.. as I want to keep this car as original as I can.

If it is worth salvaging, is it easy to replace the connectors?

I am sure you will have no trouble finding another Australian horn, unless it is a Cooper 'S' horn you are after, they are very rare and attract a significant premium over a normal horn. Let me know if you need a Cooper 'S' horn, I am sure I can find one for you! :)

You shouldn't have any problem finding another horn. Many people swap them out, because they're rubbish :)

If it's just a connector on your horn, how hard can it be to fix?

You tell me.

Here is the horn connection area. One of the tabs has broken off.

I would just clean it up and solder it back together. Bit of black paint and nobody would know!

You just need to fiddle with the screws to get the most out of them.

They are almost the same as the ones fitted to the Falcon GTs (like the Phase 3) it is only the wiring terminals that are different.
Nobody ever complained about the horns on them but when they are on a Mini they somehow turn useless. :x

If I was to replace the connector, how would I go about it? (besides getting a replacement horn)
