Hey,

Does anyone know where you can get a set of rover mini taillights with the reverse lights in them in australia?

I want a set for my clubby just to be ( sorta ) different.

Thanks,
Andrew

I'm pretty sure Northern Mini Parts sell them, Jan (Mutant Mini) will should be able to clarify that for you. Just a tip, the rover ones aren't the same as the clubby ones. They are a little bigger, and I think you need to mod the body a little. This also means you need the complete lights assembly, not just the lenses.

I wouldn't bother with local- just bring some in from MiniSpares UK. 8)
www.minispares.com

They weigh next to nothing, ask 'em to post airmail.
Note- you will need the lamps complete, not just lenses.

yea, you need to cut either up or down to elongate the rear light hole. I have seen it done.

having had them on my old mini, they are a straight swap for clubman style lights here.. Northern mini parts certainly DO have a set.. from memory about $90 I think. Give them a call, I could be completely wrong.

As far as I was told no mods are necessary to fit the UK tail lights into a clubby.

I actually saw that blue mini at the Qld show on Sunday and had a great chat with the owner.

Looks cool.

None whatsoever, though it means Ive got to get clubby rear panel or just the bit for the rear lights welded onto my deluxe so I can put the new type on - more money. Cest la vie

Not sure how much trouble it is to fit into a round nose. Didn't realise that you didn't have a clubman sorry.

LOL that's ok. With a roundy it's a matter of cutting out the aperture for the old style lights and welding in the panel or segment of the clubby variety to allow usage of the clubman style rear light cluster.
I wonder if the workshop manual has anything to say about that...
here we are...
"Using special workshop tool S#458FG78 lower the upper banjo grunnion and slide out the inner flange dremen..." Uh huh.. looks like Scions has struck again

It's not much of a mod to convert to clubby t/lights, no welding needed, I've done it a few times now and all thats needed is to pattern up a clubby t/light location template and mark it up on the morry panel and cut it out...just remember to leave the tabs on top and bottem....makes it a bit hard to secure lights otherwize

Butchery of a proper MK1! Shock! Horror! :x

Whatever... but please don't throw out the old lights, one of us `proper' unadulterated roundnose Mini owners might want 'em..

I know, I know, I know... I won't throw out the panels or butcher them. Someone might want to change the lights over on their clubman (wonder if that would be legal)

At least I wouldn't do it to a real Cooper shell. I do have some morals.
