Hey guys. Just wondering of a metro turbo disc set up can be modified to suit 10 inch wheels?

Depends on your offset on the rims.
Or you could machine your discs down, modify your hubs and the grind your callipers down until they fit under your wheels. But for all that cost and effort you could just buy a set of cooper s discs and run them.

depending on the wheel width & offset you may have to cut some of the front wheel arch.

i have 12 inch wheels with nothing cut but to do this i had to jack my car up using hilos doesnt look the best. so i recon best option is cut the guards if they dont fit but each to there own

Performance Superlites in a 12x5 is what you need. They fit fine with standard brakes (I've used them on cars with 8.4's and spacer drums). Both standard Clubman flares (which are the same profile as MK2 Cooper S flares) and the yuck black plastic flares.

Metro hubs are different, just remember that. I believe you can run metro turbo calipers and rotors on Mini disc brake hubs?

Will the 'offset' (offset probably isn't the correct term, where the wheel will sit) of the metro rotor be the same as the standard 8.4" Mini rotor?

Fairly close, but the problem with the Metro Hubs is the King Pin Angle (this will tend to make the car dive off in an un-expected direction when the suspenion height changes ie, going over a bump) and the distance between the ball joints is greater. You'll also need adjustable arms to get the camber somewhere near what you want.

The off-set is increased if you want vented discs as the drive flange needed is different to get it all to fit. If you have a look at some of the cars fitted with these, you'll notice the track is wider and the scrub is increased, along with wheel bearing load.

I can confirm metro hubs on a mini are freakin dangerous, even with every conceivable suspension part adjusted and holding my mouth just right. Couldnt believe how much better the car drives with proper hubs, actually steers where you want it to!

You'd think, wouldn't you? I went to the expense of getting new disk hubs when I went to turbo vented disks. When I showed it to the certifying engineer, he said "Why didn't you use metro hubs? That's what all the other guys do?". I didn't want to get offside with him by telling him that they'll probably never get rid of the castor effects (can't remember why metro hubs don't work).

Then he pulled me up for running 1 degree negative camber! I'll wind it out for the cert, then set it up to what works best.
