Post subject: | MK2 Seat belt clips |
Hi all I'm new to the group, but not new to Minis have had 11 over 43 years. I have been enjoying the discussions and great Mini knowledge for some time now. Just one question on seat belt clips (retainers) did Mk2s have the plastic clip just behind the" B pillar" below the window, mine has the holes but they don't look like they have ever had screws in them. Thanks for the wealth of Knowledge. |

Yes they did have them fitted. Someone reproduced some a while ago, not sure if there are any still to be had. Took me 2 years to find 2 originals ![]() |

Here is a link with a pic of one on a MK2 S. It was my first ever post! http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic ... highlight= here is another pic of one in a MK2 S. ![]() The repro ones I saw were much greyer but the old ones I have seen are very brittle and snap in half easily. I got a set of originals a few years ago but wouldn't clip the belts on in case they break. I believe they were alaso fitted in morris 1100's so look there as well if you want originals. |

I have Mini King repro clips in my 'S' and theyr'e very good. A lot stronger than OE. Certainly not afraid to put belts in. I try to remember to be gentle when removing just in case. |

Hmm... Might have to have a look to see if I've got any of those Cooper seat belt clips in my Landcrab parts collection. ![]() Ian |

Givers me the shivers just looking at that buckle hangfing up in the clip, even if you can get repros now. Wasn't the stongest piece of BMC equipment ever designed.. |

That pic is one of Keiths minis from Sydney which won the mini show down here the year before last. He sold it to someone else up there who "had to have it" and shortly after it ended up at the auctions asking $50K! Wish it was mine. |

Pozi-Drive? pozidriv size 2 fits most auto makers screws. You can tell the difference between positive dirve fastener and a phillips head screw by the four additional cross 'grips' to a pozi and that the drivers have square angle to the head rather than a more pointed head of a standard phillips head. *2 cents*. |
