this happened to me with my first mini 1966 white deluxe.
I saved up for a new gear nob.nothing to flash think it was a jap item around $160 worth alloy blue with carbon top and two days later it was gone when i parked me car at bunnings in eltham. bunch of turds....so i went out again and got another and well three weeks later it happened again...same gear nob funny thing was i was at bunings again when it got taken but i was there getting a car alarm just a cheapy to uses as an deterent. once the alarm went in ive had no trouble since and now ive got a good one not a cheapy item iether.idd say go out and get a good $300 alram fitted to give you a little piece of mind.

Twern't me...I just added the edit above about NOT advertising HOW to damage or break into Minis.... :roll:......

good to see Kaz got the message...the last thing you want is for ausmini to show all the tricks for getting into or vandalising our pride and joys (well in my case we could make an exception....because I'm the one vanadalising the 850..big time.... :lol: )

PS one day my 850 will be beautiful again.... 8) :wink:

Keep WHAT to myself?

Its in people's BEST INTEREST to know why and how this stuff happens, so they can maybe defend themselves from that kind of damage in the future.

Best thing I ever did was learn the art from the vandals themselves. Now I KNOW how to protect myself from the same crap.

But hey, it aint my problem if I cant hand out advice.

just got a bit annoyed
anyways
yeh car got broken into, some little gang of boys who lives in the neighboorhood terrorising ppls we reckon it was
bad way to break into a car..with a screwdriver to lift the lock..
far out even in a mini thats a bad way to get in!
but they didnt even get in! i hav a feelin all they wanted to do was to make people annoyed, which they did!
yeh im glad it wasnt a mini coz i reckon without an alarm and stuff they'd b easier to get in..
but then again, my uncles got a falcon gets broken into all the time...and of course his laptop gets stolen or his mobile every time...probly shouldnt leave that stuff in there
cleaned my car out tho..found a total of 5 stuffed animals in there..not as if they'd want any of that stuff tho :wink:
oh well, alarms are good..gettin one for bday..ordered it off ebay just this week hope its installed soon...like mr cushys post, if ur areas bad for breakins, GET AN ALARM!

just last night 1 of my girlfriend`s dads new BA falcon xr6turbo got broken into, they stoll computer phone, walled etc. just goes to show it doesnt matter what kind of car it is, its just whats in it, that can be seen.
