hey guys i have a problem resembling my rear drums , i have taken it apart to replace the shoes and brake cylinder , but when i went to put the cover back on it wont fit ?? im pretty sure that i have assemble together correctly , because i look fotos of it before taking a part . has anyone experience this issue b4? |

there is a little square bolt on the back of the backing plate at the top it turns undo it untill the pads will fit |

Also make sure the shoes are sitting central, that is equal spaced at each end. |

thanks guys ... i finally got the drums on is it normal for it be very tight . when i dismember the the drums i found out that my cylinder was leaking and there was no brake pad on the shoe at all , i have been driving with no rear brakes ! but its fix now , feels good that i have done it all on my own. |

The drums should be tight, but not touching (when jacked up, the wheel should turn freely). You can usually tell when you've reached the right tightness with the adjuster - wind it in until you feel some resistance. Remember, they only adjust at 90 degree intervals on the back brakes. The last turn should have some resistance as you're turning it, but once it's gone though the 90 degrees, it should feel 'free.' I hope this makes sense. |
