Has anyone had a metal can type master cylinder re-sleeved? The original one in my Traveller is leaking so I expect it needs doing (it is 50 years old after all). I need to retain it because the early ones are a bit different on top. I'm looking for somewhere reputable that can do them, its fairly involved because they have to remove and replace the tin can to drill the sleeve. Tim |

I've had them done. Been using these guys for over 25 years now. I usually get them done witha stainless sleave. They certainly can do the tin tank ones, but just be aware that the drill a hole through the lower side of the tank for the ports. They then silver solder them back up and most of the time, it is hard to pick. |

Thanks gents, I'd be pleased to hear anything further. I hadn't thought about them drilling right through the tank, I wonder how visible the hole would be afterwards? Tim |

Depends how important it is to the sleever - and how skilled they are. Usually there's quite a noticeable "button" of solder remaining - but I'm sure it could be done almost invisibly if looks are important... Cheers, Ian |
