Post subject: | Mini transport from Melbourne to Brisbane. |
Hi, We have brought a mini which doesn't go but is a roller, would anyone know of a transport company that would move it for us from Melbourne to Brisbane. By the way it only has a handbrake. Any ideas? Cheers Stephen. |

I've moved cars before using some of the big companies. The problem is it had to be first on last off the truck, more $$$. Are $$ a problem? Stupid question? |

Where's your sense of adventure, take a couple of days off work, get a car trailer, and drive down get it and drive back. ![]() We went from south brissy up to hervey bay and back in a day to get mine ![]() ![]() |

There are a few companies that do it.....but it is going to cost A LOT! For cars that go, I use Moving Cars, who use CEVA, but for some reason are cheaper that going to CEVA directly. If you go to their website, from memory they list the movers who will move cars that do not run. ![]() |

I used Toll/Autotrans to get mine from Perth to Melbourne when I bought it. The PO delivered the car to their depot & I had it delivered to my work so I could drive it home. They can do "door-to-door" service, so I assume it doesn't have to be driveable, as long as it rolls. Costs a little bit more than depot-to-depot. Cost me $755 to get Perth - Melbourne. |

I recently bought a bobcat (~ 4.5 ton including plant trailer and attachments) and had it shipped from Adelaide to Melbourne. We used a transport "brokerage" I suppose you'd call it, http://www.loadshift.com.au. You fill out a quote request and describe what you want to move and where from/to, then transport companies and owner-operators call you with a quote. We had probably a dozen calls from various places with a range of quotes from $500 to nearly $2k. The $500 quote was from an owner-operator looking for a back load; he got the job ![]() If I had to move a car, I'd definitely do it this way again. |

I used CEVA to get a non-running but mobile Mini from Brisbane to Melbourne for around $750 a year ago. Only the handbrake was operational. Included pick-up by tray-truck in suburban Brisbane, transport to their depot, load onto a semi, transport to Melbourne depot, then delivery by tray-truck to subsurban Melbourne. |

![]() We went from south brissy up to hervey bay and back in a day to get mine ![]() ![]() his journey is alot further than that Tim, ![]() 3 states away. He would have to take off 4 days at the least to get down and back. And even then it wouldn't be a pleasant drive.. it'd be rushed ![]() I've done Brisbane to Sydney and back to Brisbane in a day to get a mini, but this was back when I was young and stupid... 2 up driving but still was hard work. I dunno that going to Melbourne would be cheaper that getting a transporter.. considering you have to travel both ways.. |
