My mini shell is Ocean Blue apparently.

I am now collecting parts to finish it and want to buy a Newton Commercial interior (I think :? )

So, I want to have fun with the car so boring black is out for the interior.

I want to leave the option open of removing the flares, getting the right boot lid and making the car into a Nb car. That means it needs Cooper trim including dash rail covers.

Newton Commercial have lots of colour choices. My first was cream hood lining, tartan red panel set, black carpet and red & gold brocade seats. That may be too red though and it isn't one of the normal combinations.

NC say that the factory colour choices were:

Options appear to be:

Hood & C pillars: Cream crackle, Grey, White, Black

Panels: Black, Cumulus grey, porcelain green, tartan red, dove grey, powder blue

Seats: (Cooper trim): Cumulus grey/gold brocade, tartan red/gold brocade, powder blue/silver brocade, powder blue/gold brocade, porcelain green/dove grey, dove grey/dark grey.

Carpet:Black, grey, powder blue, red, biscuit, green

Please let me know what you think or suggest. Photos would be great too.

M.

There was a race car at Bathurst that was similar to your colour that ran an bone coloured interior that looked good.

The NC interiors always look great, but the red would not look right and the surf blue cars were almost a pale blue which suited the powder blue interior. Not sure how it would look with your Ocean Blue.

I would go with a Cooper S aussie bone trim!

Cool suggestion. The lovely wife suggested cream panels and hood lining.

I forgot to mention I have black Cobra Classic front seats. I'm not against re-covering those though. Perhaps I should just get the seats done by a local trimmer??

I want to be able to use the car so light coloured carpets are out.

NC is good value, but a trimmer will work out cheaper.

Sitting on that trolley it also looks like a Reliant Robin

Sorry, can't help much with the colours.

Newtons I hear are good. Just curious, any reason for not getting a local timmer to do the job?

I want to get a very good trim fit in the period pattern if not the period colour choice. I have had poor results getting lcoal trimmers to copy moke hoods from a factory one. Everyone thinks they know better...

I also don't have any trim except seats to pattern from. So I'd be paying a trimmer to measure. I reckon I'm better off getting something that will fit.

I have started to look at other UK suppliers and their range appears to have widened in the few years since I last looked.

Colours may end up being:
Cream hood lining, C-pillars, sun visors, door, cards etc.
Black carpet and dash rail covers.
Black with cream stripe to cooper pattern seats front and rear.

I have a full set of magnolia faced smiths gauges.

Opinions?

Ha, I was going to say that, and then ask what brakes you found to fit under those wheels...

I was sold on a colour theme for the outside and interior of mine, until I saw this in another thread. All shades of awesome in my opinion.
Cream seams to work well with blue.

Fair call. Cheers.

Those are exactly the photos the wife and I saw that convinced me that cream was the way to go.

Newton's don't do cream though so I'll have to talk to them about a special or get the trim locally.
