Hi all,
I have a number of wheels that came with my 62 and 63 mini's. Below is a picture of the inside of the wheel from the back. What are those nobbly bits?!! lol
Are they rivets??

Yep, they are rivets. It is an early wheel, the type that is supposed to break when used hard. They are supposed to be in demand from people doing accurate restorations of early cars. |

Well for some reason i have one wheel like that and the rest look pretty normal i think, on 1 it has a flatter looking type rivet?!?! |

Rivetted wheels always scare me slightly. As do widened steelies. Which is why my widened, riveted steelie makes me feel a little queasy when I take it off. Once I forget about it, everything is fiiiiiiiiine

Riveted wheels scare me less than a lot of these modern dodgey Asian cast aluminium wheels do. |
