I am thinking it shouldn't b difficult to achieve changing a cream coloured carpet by dying it to black. Anyone tryed dying carpets?

If they are nylon or any other synthetic - not a hope - the colour is added in the manufacture stage and is part of the molecule - natural fibre - cotton or wool - no problem as the fibre is porous and takes up the dye

If you are dying black a trick is to add about 25% chocolate brown to the black - makes it darker. Otherwise it comes out more charcoal than jet black.
