Just looked at my BL manual and it only shows the printed circuit plug, not the guages. I know that the white female bullet is common with the coil -ve so when it's running that should be pulsing (LED test light will show this up). So if the yellow has power and black has nothing, while running i'd try jumping an earth to the black and see what happens. |

Could you tell us if it has stopped working or if it never worked? There are two types of stock Clubbie Tacho's. The early ones senced the ignition impluses were wired in series with the +ve to the coil and so had an 'in' and an 'out' on the tacho. The later ones just senced the voltage impluses from the points. Check with your meter / test lamp that you have a good earth on the tacho by putting it straight across the yellow and black wires. If your tacho has the single bullet type connector on the back of it, it sences voltage impluses from the points. The white wire that connects to that, the other end of it should connect to the points side of your coil. If this is the type of tacho you have, there is a good chance that this is the problem with it. If the tacho is the earlier 'in-series' type and the car runs, then the tacho is karput. |
