Post subject:  self adjusting shock absorbers

Hi All, has anyone had any experience with the Kayaba self adjusting shockies ?? Just not sure whether to go for std gas shocks, these self adjusting ones or manual adjust ones. Any help is much appreciated.

Hey Jethro although I don't know a lot about the different types out there I'm using kyb gas adjust shocks on my daily & cannot fault them at all. Very nice firm comfortable ride.

Last time this was brought up it seemed quite a few people were using them.

Hi Fiji, are your kyb gas adjust shocks the self adjusting ones or can you adjust them yourself.

I don't see how they can say they're self adjusting - more like "two in one" with a gas damper and an oil damper. When the gas damper is fully compressed, the oil damper does some work...

dampers that are adjusted with a knob work differently, the knob controls the valving that allows oil to flow from one part of the damper to the other. Make the valve smaller, oil will flow slower, so the damper will be stiffer
