Hey, Just doing a bit of research for a race mini project I'm hoping to start quite soon. searched every site I can find and tried ebay for engines where do you guys find your engine's or blocks etc? Thinking a 1275 a+ for a start. Planning on doing a twin cam head conversion. I know specialist components sell these as turnkeys. Anyone had any experience with these? are they worth the money or could it be done a lot cheaper done locally or done by myself and mechanically inclined friends? Cheers for any help. Cory |

IF for racing... Just bare in mind that A+ blocks are stronger but heavier also. |

A+ blocks in most ways are good, however, don't turn your nose up at a later non A+. The difference in strength is almost academic and lets face it, you're going to break a rod or crank way before you have any trouble or measurable difference with the block. Remember too that the A+ was not designed to give better strength than the previous blocks, they were intended to be quieter ![]() ![]() |

How much heavier us the a+? I just read somewhere this was the better block for the k-series because it tiok heat better? And josh, do you regularly have these? This is just a bit of homework while I raise the cash.but if you have regular stock that helps a lot. What's the going rate for a good condition long engine a plus? Cheers mate. |

SooperCooper on here bought a 1275 A Plus and box from Josh at Mini Imports, he holds stock, imports a few from UK or Japan I think. We stripped it for rebuild and it was awesome, probably could have just run it! It's now a stormin' 1360 with the Pearce Seven Port Head! ![]() Mini Imports.... Recommended A1 ![]() |
