May be a silly question but have you checked the date code on the wiper motor? |

just looked again number on shroud is 23848 Car is a round nose with sliding windows. Currently has a 998 and rod change, haven;t looked hard yet but can't easily see and wand hole. Number on wiper is 12V 75295E DR2 3 60 A216 I will say that the number is stamped along the longer section on the wiper motor where as on my other mini it it stamped on the round section of wiper. |

No doubt our resident "Mr Encyclopedia" on BMC models (Morris 1100) will respond shortly ![]() |

Have a bit more of a poke around on the shroud to the left of what you've already found for the model number. There can be a fair bit of separation between the stampings for the model & car numbers. It'll be a 5 or 6-digit code, starting with Y. |

Not if its an early car pre appox 69. although I think there may still be a code mark for the model elsewhere on the shroud usually something like.. M2 05 sometimes stamped in a circle. The No on the shroud is the body No. The No. on the firewall is the car number. They are usually around 500 apart as Car no started at 501 and Body Nos. started at 001. In this case the difference is 485 which sounds normal. |

Once you know the model then people with numbers knowledge can give an estimate on date. |

Sounds like a 67 Deluxe, but not with sliding windows! Could be an 850 with a replaced guard / shroud? Which side is the bulkhead stamping on? does it have a magic wand gearlever hole? Recheck your bulkhead number..... Really need photo's ![]() |
