I had mine go over the pits up here in QLD. No problem at all. It has to do with the amount you vary the track (width from centre of rim to centre of rim) Check your local dept of transport for their regs. If it is outside their regs then no engineering will be able to pass it as it wont be an approveable modification.

Don't know about SA but in Vic you can only have a track increase of 25mm front and rear.
No 13 x 7 could achieve stock track, and I dare say that all of them can't even hold with the allowable track increase.
To get them passed by an engineer doing his job properly, all the suspension components would have to be replaced with new heavy duty components to make sure the extra offset loading isn't dangerous.

Maybe 13x6 could be hard to justify against the original 10x 4.5 under the RTA rules?
Yet minis came out with 13x6 as standard with nil modifications to the suspension

I could be talking out my ass
But didn't rovers come out with bigger, wider wheels?

666's car IS a rover isn't it?

The factory cars with 13x6 wheels had uprated shock absorbers and tapered wheel bearings on the back.

But here's the bit that bites him: factory 13in wheels are still in spec with allowable width increase. 666s 13 x 7s are over track.

Here's SA's modification guide:

666......can you go out and measure the track on your car front and rear? I'd be curious to see what it is.

umm mine is a rover yes, and some sportspack models did have 13x6, and they also had strengthened rear (and possibl front) subframes

where exacctly do i need to measure from harley ?

You need to measure the cars track: that is the distance from the centre of one tyre to the centre of the other tyre on the same end of the car.
The easy way is to measure from outside to outside of the tyres then subtract the width of one tyre (measure it because it'll be different than the number on the side says)

Hi 666
I had an issue with my engineer concerning my 13x7 wheels

Harley is correct about the track issue ,you must not alter the track
more than 25mm 13x7's are legal depending on the dish
Ihad 13x7 deep dish superlites and although my engineer agreed they
looked awesome they where over track

Image

I then bought some SONIC 13x7's which have a shallower dish but are still 13x7, they dont look as good but are within the legal track specs

Hallsey, the Sonics must be dead on the knocker of the limit still.
Do you know what the measurement on them is?

HI Harley

The widest track of the rover mini with 13x6's was 1325mm
Add your 25mm brings your widest legal track to 1350mm
My superlites were 1365mm
The sonics are 15mm narrower in dish (by 2 =30mm )
So i presume they would be around 1335mm ish
I havnt had time to measure the track yet but will try to do so 2morrow

Cheers Hallsey

PS thanks michaelb
