Obviously cleaning the faces up etc. Do you need to use any additional sealants? Also, what is this o-ringing the block business? I'm guessing the copper gaskets like Payen don't require the o-ringing?

I got a price for an ACL monotorque head gasket from Repco and it's the same price for the full copper head gasket/rocker/manifold kit from one of the oz mini parts suppliers.

Just trying to figure out the best bang for the buck.

Thanks

No, I just fit them clean, BUT the gasket faces of the block and head have to be 110% purfect, otherwise waste of a good gasket. Be sure to re-torque it twice.

Copper head gaskets for 850-998-1098 have been crap since they took the asbestos out.
Ausmini is littered with folks who have blown these. The Monotorque gasket is cheap, even at 2x its price, it is better than the current copper one.

I thought ACL went under a few years ago?!.
The Monotorque must be NOS. I've heard of people treating a monotorque as a normal head gasket (re-tensioning when due).

With respect ( with respect - OK) these failure I would seriously doubt are a fault of the gasket BUT as I said ^ if the gasket faces are 110% then expect trouble for sure. If the gasket faces are less than 110%, then a Monotoque or similar would be the go.
