Just wondering if any one can tell me why when I put my headlights on the idle drops and sometimes when I stop at the lights too quick the car stalls Thanks |

You've conflated the symptoms. Does the quick stop at traffic lights cause a stall all of the time or only when the headlights are on? |

Maybe the idle is just a bit low, try it with the choke pulled slightly to bump the idle up. |

That in itself is normal-ish. Mine does the same, but it is only a fractional change to the engine note. It's by no means getting close to stalling. Again though, can you please clarify the "stopping at the lights" syndrome. Is that with or without headlights? It could be a red herring or it could be important, but the original description is ambiguous. |

Is your battery charged..? When I drive around with my headlights, and turn a corner and hit the gas, the car bogs down; If I turn the headlights off it picks back up and goes. All battery related for me - Sounds similar |

The quick stop at the lights only stalls the car when the headlights are on |

If the engine is otherwise tuned well and in good condition, I think Adam may be right; it's battery/alternator related. After a long drive with the headlights on, do you ever have difficulty getting the car to start? Does the starter motor turn over slower than normal, even if it does start? |

Got a multimeter? Tap that on to your battery then get a helper to turn your lights on. See what happens! Check your fuses as well. One of the cables might be loose. 2 fuses who thought that was a good idea!? ![]() |
