It is only worth doing if it is an Ozzy made rack. Have a look on the LH end and it will say something like CAM GEARS made in oz etc, if it doesn't say that, bin it. You'd also be hard pressed getting parts for the UK racks. |

The Cam Gears Oz ones I rebuild for late bigwheel Mokes, I put Morris 1100 tierods on them. This gives a bit more thread engagement into the tierod ends. |

Would it be beneficial to get a 2.2 turn rack? Could you change the Aust. to a quick rack? |

If not, keep it for another rack and fit another s/h collar, or a new one. I machine the punched in bit inside the machined down part back to original diameter so they don't bruise the rack threads when refitting, and I toss them away once used twice. |

I drill into the hole with a 6mm drill. Hold the drill running while then turning the collar to and for a bit with multigrips- the drill bit mills the bent bit of the collar away, then it will spin off easy. ![]() |

The Australian made Cam Gears rack (the rack inside it) is a bigger diameter than the UK ones. It is actually a short version of the Morris 1100 rack. The UK ones are throw away now, most wear parts are unobtainable. And their recent new ones are poorly made, (probably not in UK) ![]() |
