Oh you'd think its the same price at Karcraft - but its not. Isnt the one that Karcraft sell a twin box - ie resonator and muffler - the way RC40 was designed to be. Whereas the one above is just the tail box.

I might be wrong but I doubt it.

I've got one on my 1275 at the moment (and have had since 1997), but ever since fitting it, I've never been that impressed with it.
Well that's not altogether true, it does it's job just fine and is a straight through efficient design, but what is all the fuss over them? The sound isn't that special and it is very easy to get a straight through muffler these days for not a lot of dough.
Is it because it is the classic muffler to have, or do we simply stick with what we know?

Well.
The RC40 is a classic design, and has been used for many a year, and its also proven that it works.
The note is loved by lots of people, and theres not many mufflers that produce the same note (that i've come across anyway).
So yeah.

My 1c + 1c worth.

If you have a squiz up inside an RC40 rear box, you will see not only is it straight thru design like a Lukey etc, but it has an expansion chamber at one end. Mine does, anyhow.
Whatever, it seems to work.

Yeah I suppose the sound is what a mini is all about. Never new they had a resonator built in though. Not gonna pull mine off to have a look though.
Have you guys had the chrome plating on the outlet go all dodgey?
