Hello All. I have aquired a 3 gauge dash for my clubman . What do ineed to make this work as far as will it plug into my loom and what will i need to do at the coil end. Thanks. |

From memory, the 3 gauge unit will plug in OK to your existing loom, but the tacho will need a white wire to the coil, positive terminal and another white wire to terminal 2 of the ignition switch ie tacho is in series with the live feed to the coil. As per page 176-177 of the Gregory's manual. let me know if you need a copy. |

The main Cluster plug is the same on all "Clubman type" dash boards even Rovers. With the Tacho however there are two types. If you have the earlier type with the loop sensing system you should find that in all Clubman there is a white wire behind the Dash which is the ignition feed to the coil and it is joined together with a male and female bullet type connector. Separate these two ends and connect them to the two terminals male and female bullets behind the Tacho. If you have the later type it requires a wire from the - neg side of the coil, an + ignition Feed and an Earth -. 3 wires. Make sure the FLEX Printed circuit is in good usable condition. |

im changing from the 3 gauge back to single centre speedo, and am having good times deciphering which wire is which. The plug has numbered terminals, do these represent specific functions? so far i've traced number 3 terminal to be my temp guage. Yeah i have wiring diagrams, i also have other books in different languages of which i no speaky  all i need is fuel, high beam, ignition, and oil.

all i need is fuel, high beam, ignition, and oil.You'll have more (less?) fun working from the wire colours! Green +ve to the voltage stabaliser (for fuel & temp gauge) Green / black from fuel tank sender Green / blue from temp sender Black earth Green / red Indicator (right) Green / white Indicator (left) Blue / white Hi Beam Brown / yellow Alt. Ind lamp White / Brown from Oil Switch Sender Switch Red / green Panel illumination lamps |

not!That does make it more difficult! Probably bell them out  will just take a bit of time, that's all.

Thats why i was hoping that each number on the plug corresponse to a certain function. I could just transfer what i need, right? |

Edited, I looked at a cluster and harness instead of the book! 1 = Green/White = Right Blinker 2 = Green/Black = Fuel gauge. 3 = Green/Blue = Temp gauge. 4 = Blue/White = High beam (books says this is the spare slot!) 5 = Black = earth. 6 = Green/Red = Left Blinker 7 = Spare (book says High beam but the book is wrong!) 8 = Green, runs from fusebox to Voltage stabiliser. 9 = Green, runs from fusebox to a screw on the cluster, then via jump wire to tacho. 10 = Brown/Yellow = Alternator light 11 = White/Brown = Oil light. 12 = Red/Green = Dash lights. |

Note, the brown wire looks like it running to #2 is actually running to #10
