Are these available anywhere? Or fixable, they look simple but I can't see how they are supposed to push, where is the spring! This is from a '70 mini K. I'd like to keep the original style if possible. ![]() |

Lockie: Thanks mate. I think yours might be the ones with a lobe with a hole in it. Can you check. Mine are completely round and press fit with no extra bit visible when in place. Mini Man: Thanks heaps, it would be great if you could check. If they look like mine then I'd love to get a couple. arjay: Cool - I've spent hours in that shop and never seen those! Thanks. I'll get mini ones if I can, pref these suckers with the round mounting. |

mini's got the round push in ones... but they pull out stupidly easy.. is this just cos they're old are they meant to press in tightly? |

Yeah. They are fairly rubbish. Mine were not too loose. If they were I reckon I'd be able to splay out the fitting a little. Problem with mine is the push-in bit doesn't spring out properly so they never switch anything on. |

The Rover ones are a better switch (cheap too), the originals were never great as they are steel and corrode, and there is no real positive connection to the body. All you have to do to fit Rovers is drill one hole (and the screw earths the switch properly). Best thing I ever did, the switches work all the time!! ![]() |

I have also fitted one of these to the bonnet. so far they have been good. We have these switches in trucks at work, they don't like dirt or dust or moisture. They are junk. The trucks at work have a warning system in place to prevent the driver leaving the truck without applying the parking brake. (the horn blows if the door is opened with the handbrake off!) These rubbish switches keep failing to work. |

Try John at the mini king. I've got a pair of new ones last year. My springs had gone and full of dust & paint from an old respray. I think less that $10 each and have been fault-less on the daily driver. Cheers. |
